What is Custard powder?
A British product which is a quick mix for making custard. The product was developed by Alfred Bird in the 1840's. He developed the product for his wife who was allergic to eggs.
How To Use Custard Powder
To use, simply mix 2 tablespoons of powder with 1 tablespoon sugar and enough milk and mix to a paste. Add 1 pint of simmering milk, and heat gently to the boil. Use this sauce over sliced pound cake or fresh fruit.
Corn starch, salt, flavoring and annatto for color.
